About the program

The first project implemented in the program “Be Fit Like a Firefighter” was the Firefighter’s Training Wall in Gdańsk.

The Foundation was responsible for creating plans for the construction of the facility, acquiring funds for the construction, coordinating works on the wall and conducting a promotional campaign. The patrons of this project were, a.e. The Ministry of Sport and Tourism, the Polish Olympic Committee, the Polish Ski Association, the Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Gdańsk, as well as great figures from the world of sport – the legend of Polish football, Włodzimierz Lubański.

One complex – many benefits for the local community

Better fire safety

Access to high-quality training equipment helps to improve the skills and physical fitness of OSP and MDP officers and encourages new volunteers to join and develop into the firefighter profession. As a result, the units have a wider and better prepared staff, which directly translates into responsiveness and combat effectiveness.

Unprecedented promotion of physical culture and the profession of firefighter among children and adolescents

Building a new sports and recreation infrastructure gives young people more opportunities to spend their free time. Thanks to this, they can break away from everyday problems and find a passion for physical activity or, what is extremely important now, decide to develop in the profession of a firefighter. Promoting positive ways of life is all the more important for children and adolescents from pathological backgrounds.

Possibility to organize firefighting shows and other local events

Having a modern training facility for everyday use of uniformed services, which additionally enables it to be used for other purposes, is extremely useful for local governments in the context of pro-cultural, pro-educational and pro-social activities. The complex can be a great attraction during city festivals, it can be a destination for school trips, or it can be a venue for local sports competitions, e.g. in the field of climbing.
